Deer hunting success in KY.

 Visit the Family in Kentucky. I had an opportunity to hunt private farm land. After the 3rd day, and seeing some small does and spike bucks ( one 6-8 point) . I got a view of a nice buck at 130 -140 yards. I didn’t want to hesitate, so I took a shot of a deer that was quartering toward me. The deer jumped and we never found any blood. We found the deer 1.5 days later. Unfortunately, some coyotes had got to the deer. We salvaged what we could of this bruiser. What a great visit.

Had a race

 

 Last race in the 50year old+ class . Got a bad start (12th out of 13 into the first corner) but I finished 6th. 

Sydney was there for support, and picture taking.

Had a little fire

 We threw away some ash from our fire pit. Apparently there was a charcoal in there that was still glowing.

It caught our trash can on fire, then our lattice, and the flames hit our house soffit, before we stopped it with our hose. The neighbor called us, thank god, and we dashed out to extinguish it. 3 fire trucks showed up. Luckily the damage was superficial

It snows here

 It’s true, it does snow here in North Carolina

First Jeep trip in NC

 I needed to shake the cob webs off the jeep. The Uwharrie National forest has a “badge of honor” trail. I was invited by my good friend Denny, and his friend, who led the pack. We completed about 16 miles of trail. Check out videos of Dickey Bell.

Family vacation to Fripp Island

 There was Golf carts, golf, fishing, alligators, deer and a great beach. Amber, Mike, Eleanor, Sydney, Olivia, Zack, Mitch, krissy, Dean, Lee, Leslie, Kim, Eric. 

The family is growing

 My oldest daughter and her husband have become parents to the most beautiful baby girl, and we are the happiest Grandparents.

It’s that time ….. dirt bike time

When we left San Diego, It was suggested that we sell my dirt bike, and I could get a replacement when we get to North Carolina.

Well a major shoulder surgery and rehabilitation precluded me from moving forward with that plan. 

Physical therapy got me moving pretty good, so, it’s dirt bike time. I bought a 2021 Kawasaki kx450x. It seems to be a great bike and I got to ride it once before it got too cold. Did some woods riding. I Pulled up to the facility and introduced myself to a gentleman, and he let me tag along. 

I intend to do some woods racing, (something I haven’t injured myself at, yet)

Shoulder surgery

 Shoulder was wore out.

Had to de-burred the rotator cuff.

Torn labral muscle

Detached bicep muscle and reattach to humorous bone.

Cyst deletion.

Bone on bone contact in ball joint. They have to grind that down to build up scar tissue.

Found someone to ride with

 Steve and I heading up to Little Switzerland.
