Costco had a special on these outlets with USB charging ports.
This was today's project.

Needed a paper towel holder that met my needs. I could not find what I needed at any store, so I new I would get more satisfaction out of making my own.

With bits of scrap items around the garage,  I made this one.

From a block of 1/2 inch polypropylene I cut the shape with a scroll saw, and drilled a hole with a paddle bit. Then threaded it with some 3/4 inch PVC, and some end caps.

Not bad.

Why No Comments?

I see that this page gets a few visitors, but I haven't received a comment since 2007.

Mom Died. Worst day of my life.

My lovely mother meant so much to so many, has passed away peacefully, after a blood clot caused her sudden passing.
Please say a prayer for her, and my Dad.
Mom recently had a shoulder surgery and was working on her recovery. She was getting more comfortable, and moved around to her comfort level. It was too much, and collapsed on the stairs, she had a hard to breathe. Dad called the paramedics.
Mom stopped breathing, and could not be revived.
It hurts to write this.
Dad was devastated that he could not do more. My poor Dad.
My Sister and her daughter arrived first, then my wife, myself and my daughters. The house was full of broken hearts.
We got the family affairs together, and had a memorial for Mom and a reception at the Catholic Church. We had a great turn out.
So many people had a story and a conveyance of love for Mom. I did my best to deliver a eulogy that would make mom proud.  May she rest in peace.

Street bike ride, then snowmobiles

Well, we did dirt bikes, it's time for street, then snow.
I was looking for a Suzuki GS500 frame and title that I could use to revive my old race bike. Instead, I found a Orange Street bike that needed some parts, paint and TLC.
I got this bike street ready in time for Amber's visit. Sydney rode the KLR650, and Kim and I on the Harley.
We met up with our friends in Encinitas. We rode through Rancho Santa Fe. To Escondido, then to Ramona for lunch. What great Day.

We made our way to Michigan ( due to some unfortunate circumstances) the girls, and i  got to ride some snowmobiles.

Family desert trip to Glamis, and guys to Ocotillo

The boys(Eric and Eric), went to Ocotillo Wells, on an overcast day to stretch our legs, and wheels. We found an airplane graveyard, and put in about 30 miles of desert riding.

We were fortunate enough to have access to a Polaris razor for the dunes, so the bike was switched over to a paddle tire.

I took the wife, daughters, and dog out to Glamis for a day trip, and we hit the sand.

#1 had to assemble a table, so I sent her a DeWalt drill, and she finished the project like a pro.
#2 had a formal event for her sorority, and got dressed up all nice, and partied it up.

Took the dog this time, and he loves the mountains

Daughter was in town for Thanksgiving. Wanting to burn off some of the feast, we threw the dog in the truck, put on some hiking shoes/boots, and headed for Mount Laguna. We hiked in off the main road about 1.5 miles, and found ourselves in a meadow with a pond. The dog loved it. He also ran into more dogs that enjoyed the water.  I got to wear my hat, and my wife didn't even roll her eyes.

Hunting season is over, but the memories go on

We did a lot of hiking this year, with no results. If you count getting a deer results.
We stayed healthy, burned some calories, and saw some great views. On the mountains overlooking the desert, we saw a couple does, but this was the best view all year, as well as the toughest hike.

Riding in Big Bear with Eric, and Chris

I met a a gentleman through my work. He works in the construction industry and he told me that he rides dual Sports and lives up in Big Bear. He invited us to come up there anytime we want, so I took my good friend Eric. We put the motorcycles in the back of the truck and took the two and a half hour drive up to Big Bear, it was beautiful. We climbed the mountain with the truck through lots of trees and beautiful Terrain. Chris lives in Sugarloaf. We unloaded the bikes at his house, and drove to the city of Big Bear, to our first trail near Big Bear Resort. The trail took us down to the bottom of the south-facing side of the mountain and back up to the top it was about a 12-mile loop. At the top we drove into Big Bear and went to the Big Bear brewery had beer and hamburgers. We left and hit another trail on the North side.  We were able to get a few vantage points where we saw Johnson Valley and Apple Valley. We continued on to the house it was a great day for a ride thanks Chris.
