Graduation, the good and the bad.

My daughter graduated college. I am so proud of her. She worked very hard, and grew independence, while working a job and handling her academics.
We drove from San Diego to Sacramento met up with our other daughter. Then we watched her ceremony.
Meanwhile, in the audience, I was having a Kidney stone attack. I was in pain the whole ceremony, but it got worse as it completed.
We found our way over to a restaurant. I didn't last long, and had to drive myself to the hospital. Where I spent the next 6 hours.

Storage and platform add to the Jeep

I really wasn't using the back seat in the Jeep, and needed space for the dog and for tools. I tried to make it on a budget, and use materials from around the house. So far it's working pretty good, but I need to secure the drawer better, and add a bracket to secure the compartment to the Jeep for in case of a roll over. Now, I am fabricating brackets to hold my High lift jack. Stay tuned for that.

Lift kit

I had been shopping for a lift kit, and they are $400+. Bit I heard you can use the stock Rubicon suspension off of a Wrangler JK.
When I called on one that I saw on Craigslist, the guy offered me a 2" lift from his Dads jeep. I painted the shocks, installed the springs and shocks, and bought used tires I also found on Craigslist. My buddy found a jack at the swap meet (I painted that, too) and a hitch.

Project Jeep

The heater core was disconnected. I assumed it was bad, so it was high on the list of things to replace. It was quite the task, as the dash, and steering column has to be removed. It took most of the day, but now, I have heat!

A visit home

Had to make a Visit home. Dad is moving. I had to help him.
Got some help from some good friends.
Hit the bar one night.

2018 Christmas

Had the daughters in town. And took a few pictures.
Went golfing, out in the desert. I was pleasantly surprised by the beauty around the course. Amber still has a good swing, me? Not so much

Wyoming Elk

Got invited to Wyoming to Elk hunt.
It was plenty cold. We were able to see a number of moose, a few elk, and some deer.
The first full day of hunting, my hunting partner shot a cow elk. We broke down the Elk, and was able to bring it home on the quads. Once home, we processed it into stakes, burger, and roasts. We sliced up the back strap, ans even part of the heart, as seen in the pictures.
