Last Match
'A' s last match of the season posting a score of 54 was overshadowed by a local golfer two groups ahead who Eagled the always trickie (par 4)#5 hole on the North course. The fog was heavy that day my friends, but at this glorious moment the clouds parted, and from 170yds. away from the hole This golfer struck a mighty 6 iron with such crispness that the hit was hauntingly quiet. The wind paused the birds stopped chirping and a hush drew over the gallery. The ball took two hops, and rolled into the cup for an Eagle. A mighty roar errupted, and I can say that there wasn't a dry eye in the place. Photographers were able to just catch a glimpse and a photo of the heroic golfer before he just tipped his hat and.... disappeared.
