As usual I try to squeeze as much as possible into a short period of time.
I started off by flying in on a Tuesday evening, and my Dad picked me up. I practiced shooting my Bow.
The next day I got a hunting license, Visit Jack, and Steve. Jack was gratious enough to let me hunt on his property. He has farmland, fields, and woods on his property. Jack had a stand in the corner of the fields and fencelines, and saw a 8 point buck, and shot it. I was not as fortunate, but I was sitting in the beautiful woods and that to me is mostly what I go out for.
I was able to help jack find his downed deer, and help him bring it in. here is a picture of his trophy:
Here is the view from my stand:
I took my Dad out there the next evening, and we did not see any deer.
I spent the next day going to the Flint institute of Art where my Dad works as a part of the security team, and my Mom learns, and hones her craft of pottery.
My good friends Tony and Laura, and their boys came and picked me up to go north, and do some hunting at his brothers property.
Here is a view of their cabin
Kris, his girls, and Tony's boys, love to add some excitement to the fall season, and they spice up holloween with a haunted trail that goes behind the cabin. it is quite an event with lots of props, lighting, mirrors, and even a fog machine. lots of friends and family come over, and make it a big event.
Tony and I in the front yard.
We have a funny way of saying goodbye!
I saw a few other friends from the past:
Steve Edwards
Phil Dudzik
I also spent a few hours with Mark Cheza.
We had a few drinks together, maybe I had too much, but I decided to sleep it off at Marks. Thanks for putting me up for the night.
You are welcome for the extra strong coffee.
I need to get a picture of that guy.
I want to thank you all for giving me a fun and memorable vacation.
